Making a Very Special Yarn from the King’s Clip

Making a Very Special Yarn from the King’s Clip

We were recently asked to produce a unique yarn from “The King’s Clip” – the fleeces of three flocks of sheep kept at Dumfries House, for the special oversized handknit scarf (pictured below) which is part of the NET-A-PORTER for The King’s Foundation capsule collection. The 13-piece, ready to wear, capsule collection has been designed by six fashion graduates of The Modern Artisan training programme at The King’s Foundation headquarters at Dumfries House in Ayrshire, Scotland.

Colin Spencer Halsey, CEO said “We are delighted to be associated with this prestigious project and process a natural yarn from the fibre collected from Dumfries House. This type of project underpins our values of sustainability, traceability and collaboration. At the Natural Fibre Company we are focused on delivering quality yarns from field to garment”.
