In 2022 we collaborated with Green Salon Collective to produce a sample 12ysw woollen spun yarn from hair salon waste (human hair) which we blended with wool. Recently we were thrilled to receive Beth Williams’ human hair living textile sample images shown below which show the crocheted human hair yarn with growing peas and grass at 13 days growth and the same sample at 45 days growth. It’s fascinating stuff, and shows the endless possibilities of working with waste materials and natural fibres.
