Preparing a Collection for Paris Fashion Week

Lindsay Girvan is based on Bonnytoun Farm in Linlithgow, Scotland and has a large flock of pedigree Shetlands. Lindsay creates a shepherd’s wardrobe to be worn, used, enjoyed, cherished, and to provide warmth and a sense of well-being by the wearer. Each piece is handmade entirely in Lindsay’s atelier on the farm using beautifully spun undyed wool.

The Natural Fibre Company scoured, washed, carded and spun Lindsay’s wool to her specification, in the lead up to her LG collection pieces being shown during Paris Fashion Week 2024.

Lindsay says: “Their expertise and knowledge shines through when discussing needs and timings. The understanding of our requirements for the end product was exceptional and the wool was spun to match the samples sent. They were super supportive in getting our spun wool back to us in time for
sampling prior to a major event through outstanding supply chain management from receiving the wool to liaising with the couriers when the wool was on its return journey. The communication was superb – I was kept in the loop throughout. I was delighted with the service and have already booked in for next year.

The Natural Fibre Company provides for all – including those of us who are somewhere between the crafters and the big boys. This year my fleece weighed in at 275kg and was turned into first-rate yarn in a short space of time in time for Paris Fashion Week. The garments (and therefore naturally the wool) went down a storm!”
